We run emergency service across Loveland and the Thompson Valley for the problems that carry real risk: no heat in freezing weather, no cooling in dangerous heat, gas and CO concerns, and water pouring out of equipment.
Call (970) 555-0134 any time. After hours, the line rolls to the on-call technician.
What counts as an emergency
- No heat when it is below freezing outside: pipes in exterior walls and crawlspaces can freeze and burst within hours during a hard cold snap. This is the most time-sensitive call we get.
- Carbon monoxide detector alarming: leave the house first, call 911, and call us once you are outside and the home is cleared.
- Smell of gas near the furnace: same order. Out of the house, 911 or the gas company from outside, then us.
- Burning or electrical smells, sparking, or a repeatedly tripping breaker tied to the furnace or AC starting.
- No cooling during extreme heat with vulnerable people in the home: infants, elderly occupants, anyone with a health condition heat makes worse.
- Water actively leaking from a furnace, coil, or condensate system into ceilings, walls, or a finished basement.
Plenty of problems feel urgent but can safely wait for a regular appointment at a regular rate: a noisy unit that still heats, one warm room, a thermostat acting odd. When you call, describe the situation honestly and we will tell you straight if it can wait.
What to do before we arrive
- For no heat: check the thermostat is set to HEAT, the furnace switch is on, and the filter is not completely plugged. Those three fix a surprising share of calls.
- If pipes are at risk, open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls and let faucets drip slowly. Shut off the water main if a pipe has already burst.
- For a frozen system: turn the furnace off at the switch if you hear grinding, banging, or smell burning. A furnace hurting itself does not get better by running.
- Move space heaters carefully if you use them: three feet from anything that burns, never unattended, and never as the plan for more than a night.
- For AC failures in heat: close blinds on the west side, run ceiling fans, and get vulnerable family members to a cooler place if the house passes the mid-80s inside.
Emergency HVAC Repair in Loveland homes
Loveland's winter cold does not drift in politely. The hard snaps pour east out of Big Thompson Canyon, and a calm 25-degree evening can be 5 degrees by midnight with wind on top of it. Homes on the west side, up toward Mariana Butte and the foothills, feel those drops first and hardest. That speed is why a furnace failure here rates differently than the same failure in a milder climate.
The older housing stock raises the stakes further. The ranches around Lake Loveland often have furnaces in crawlspaces and plumbing in walls that were insulated to 1970s standards. In a no-heat stretch those pipes freeze faster than the ones in a new Centerra build, where the equipment is newer but the high-efficiency furnaces have their own emergency pattern: frozen condensate drains during the coldest nights, shutting the system down until the line is thawed and rerouted.
Summer emergencies follow Loveland's heat pattern too. A week of high 90s pushes marginal AC systems past their limit, and the failures cluster on the hottest afternoon, not the first warm day.
What emergency repair costs
Expect an after-hours service fee on top of the repair itself — that is standard across Loveland. Most emergency repairs land in the same range as their daytime versions once the failed part is known: most Loveland homeowners pay between $250 and $900 total for an after-hours furnace or AC repair, with ignitors, sensors, and capacitors at the low end and blower motors and control boards at the top. A compressor failure or cracked heat exchanger changes the job into a replacement conversation, and we will not start that work on an emergency ticket without walking you through the numbers.
